The most popular Bollywood actors are just as steamy hot, multi-talented and hard working as any other actor in the world. In fact, in the fast-paced movie market of India, they usually work much harder than other actors, filming several movies at one time.
Bollywood movies refer to the films produced in India, which are often filled with music and dancing. However, Bollywood is also a literal place. Located in Mumbai, India, Bollywood is the top movie production area in the country.
Popular Bollywood Actors
- Aamir Khan was born in 1965 in Mumbai, India. He started his career in 1970, but quickly dropped out of the limelight. He returned to Bollywood with his hit movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in 1988. He is considered a very well-rounded actor who can work in any genre. His films include Dil, Rangeela and Taare Zameen Par.
- Akshay Kumar was born in 1967 in Amritsar, India. He started his career as a model and starred in his first movie, Saugandh, in 1991. He had to slowly work his way up through the ranks of India's elite actors, finally gaining recognition. His films include Khiladi, Dhadkan and Heyy Babyy.
- Amitabh Bachchan was born in Allahabad, India in 1942. His first movie was Saat Hindustani in 1969. He had a failed political career, but his long acting career always seems to bounce back. Considered a classic icon of Bollywood, his legacy continues to grow. His films include Mohabbatein, Black and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
- Hrithik Roshan was born in 1974 in Mumbai, India. He worked many backstage jobs in the film industry as a child, but had no major roles. His debut hit was Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai in 2000, which shot him to megastar status almost overnight. He was such an instant hit that it caused wild hysteria named hrithikmania. His films include Yaadein, Krrish and Jodhaa Akbar.
- Salman Khan was born in 1965 in Indore, India. He had any easy time breaking into the world of acting with the help of his father, famous author Salmin Khan. He is seen as a Bollywood bad boy for his headline-making antics. His films include Partner, God Tussi Great Ho and Yuvvraaj.
- Shahid Kapoor was born in 1981 in Mumbai, India. The son of a renowned actor and actress, he started his career in commercials and music videos. His first leading role was in the 2003 movie Ishq Vishk. He won rave reviews and is slowly making his way to super stardom. His films include Shikhar, Jab We Met and Kaminey.
- Shahrukh Khan was born in 1965 in New Delhi, India. The handsome and talented actor started his career in soap operas. In 1992 he got his big break with a role in the popular movie Deewana. Since then he was won multiple awards and is considered both a critical and commercial success. His films include Darr, Baadshah and Om Shanti Om.
