The cost of plastic surgery has grown more affordable over the years, but most procedures still cost several thousand dollars. Still, even when the costs are added up, prices for plastic surgery seem to take a backseat to what some people feel is a priceless boost in self image and self esteem.

Note that cost for cosmetic surgery will differ from state to state, and even between cities and individual surgeons. Most insurance plans will not cover plastic surgery that is not for reconstructive purposes due to illness or injury. Therefore, many plastic surgery clinics will put interested people in touch with lenders for plastic surgery financing. 

Breast augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries. From silicone implants to breast lifts, an improved bust will cost anywhere from $3,000 to $7,000. Use liposuction to remove fat cells from the tummy, hips and bottom for anywhere from $2,500 for a single area to over $10,000 for four or five areas on the body. This is different from a tummy tuck, which is at least $5,800 on average.

Skin treatments, such as dermabrasion, chemical peels or resurfacing help reduce scarring, smooth out complexions and reduce wrinkles. It’s not unusual for these procedures to be under $1,000 to as high as $5,000. Rhinoplasty, or nose surgery, is an average of $3,000, with many people feeling that it is worth it for a nose shape that they feel better fits their face.

Facework includes cheek implants and chin implants, which may begin at around $2,200. Eyelid tucks start at more than that, right around $3,000. Other facial enhancements are face lifts ($5,000), forehead lifts ($3,000) and permanent makeup, such as eyeliner and lip liner ($350).

Among the least expensive ways to improve your looks is a micro peel ($80), tattoo removal ($300), Botox injections ($200) and laser hair removal ($350).

Many people try to look outside the United States for affordable plastic surgery. Popular destinations include clinics in Latin America, where the cost can be reduced by as much as a third. Spain is another cosmetic surgery option as is Thailand. Canada and some of the European Union countries will also generally offer high quality procedures for less than what it costs in the United States.
