Do you love makeup? Learning how to make eyeshadow at home is a wonderful approach to taking an appreciation for cosmetics to the next level. Not only will you be able to make customized color palettes to match your skin tone and preferences, but you'll also be creating a natural eyeshadow made from minerals, not chemicals.
- Go to a professional beauty supply store or to a place where a wide variety of mineral makeup is sold to purchase the supplies. You'll need mica powders in the colors you desire, a grinder and a binder. Also, make sure you have a bowl, spoon and empty eyeshadow containers on hand.
- The most fun step in making eyeshadow is creating custom colors. Get into a creative frame of mind and begin to mix together your powders. Start by mixing gold or silver with primary colors, such as purple or blue. You might also want to try neutrals like brown or pink.
- Grind up a variety of different mica hues and mix small amounts together in a bowl to find a shade that suits you best. Once you've found a shade you like, mix enough together so that you can make a pressed eyeshadow.
- Mix the ground up mica in a bowl evenly, making sure to get rid of any streaks of colors.
- Spray the binder on the powders in the bowl so that they'll stick together better and last longer on your eyelids when you wear the eyeshadow.
- Transfer the mica powders from the bowl to your empty eyeshadow container. Pack the powders tightly into the container with the back of a spoon.
- Allow your eyeshadow to dry thoroughly before using. When your shadow has dried, you will be able to apply the shadow to your eyes and have fun creating dramatic and dynamic looks.
