Choppy Trendy Hairstyles

By: Julie Knapp

Choppy trendy hairstyles are all about lots of layers and textures. Since these looks can be and in fact are designed to be worn messy, these trendy hairstyles are great for women who don't have a lot of time to spend on their look in the morning. Tousling and volumizing are two of the biggest techniques you need to get down to make these looks work.

Lest you think that these looks can't clean up nicely, know that these fast and easy styles can easily go glam. If you spend a little extra time and use an extra product or hair accessory, you could rock the red carpet.

Choppy Pixie
The pixie cut is by nature a choppy cut, as long as you go on the longer side. With hair two or three inches long, a pixie will give you that choppy feeling. You'll have the freedom to fluff it and mold it with your fingers.

Straight & Choppy
A cut that's kept close to your head and not much longer than your ear level is a trendy hair style, too. This is a good option for women with straight hair, as the hair will lay flat and accentuate the different choppy layers. But even if you have some wave or curl, you can get this look with a straightening iron.

Choppy Bob
When you think of the choppy bob, you can think of just about any Meg Ryan hairstyle of the -90s. The look is simply a heavily layered razor cut bob. While it looks like one of the other choppy trendy hairstyles that doesn't need much time to make it look good, this one looks best when styling products and a blow dryer are used. That said, if you have natural wave and body in your hair, you could make it work without a lot of fuss.
