Smooth lips

By: Ria M

Not only does your inner body need water, but if you deprive it from fluids, it will start showing in your outer appearance, especially in the form of dry and cracked lips.

Why Lips Tend to Get Dry
The lip skin does not have sweat glands or sebaceous glands. So, it does not have the protection layer of sweat and body oils which keep the skin smooth. This is why the lips tend to dry faster.

Make sure you drink plenty of water daily. Eight glasses of water is the suggested amount. If you ever feel very thirsty, then you went too long without drinking fluids. Soda is the worse thing to drink when thirsty. Gatorade and water are great fluids.Try starting your day off with O.J. in the morning as well.

Home made skin mask and  lip treatments are great because it includes natural alpha hydroxy and natural hydrator and exfoliants. Being able to prepare it in your kitchen is a plus as well. You can teach your friends and famliy how to do it.

Ingredients:
1 tbsp of sugar or brown sugar,1 drop of honey and 1 tbsp of water

Mix ingredients and apply on your lips using a circular motion for 30 seconds. Rinse. This solution will exfoliate your lips. Honey is a natural hydator and sugar is a natural exfoliate. Pat dry and apply a good chap stick such as, fresh effects chap stick. When you go to bed, always apply chap stick so that your lips are moisturized through out the night and you will wake up to smooth lips in the morning. Another brand to try and its a bit pricey, but its great is Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream.

You can do your sugar lip solution when you wake or before bedtime everyday. When your lips start to look healthy, then you can do the sugar solution once a week.

Now, pucker up and get started.
