Business introduction letters are the ultimate first impression; they are the first chance to make someone believe in your company or product. The definition is stated exactly like its name; its sole purpose is to introduce either an individual or company to another person. It can also be used to introduce a product/product line or service to fellow members of the business community. Writing an introduction letter is similar to wearing the right tie to an interview or shaking someone's hand that is higher than you in your career field. These things have one thing in common, and that is you can tell so much about a person or in some cases the way a company performs by these small gestures.

A business introduction letter serves as the first type of formal communication. So, when deciding to write one, it would be fitting to know a specific name that you are sending it to. This shows knowledge of that company and it also makes it easier for your letter to be received by the right person and not just floating around with the rest of the junk mail. When writing the letter, make sure these three components are put into words first: Name of the person or company, Reason for introduction, and background/additional information. Also make sure you highlight for the reader what you are planning on accomplishing with sending the letter and include all specific contact information.

A business introduction letter should be written formerly and professionally, no longer than three or four paragraphs. Being specific and direct will allow you to talk about all necessary key points on what makes you business excel and/or the product without boring the reader. Adding additional background information helps to build credibility with other businesses. Highlight who you have successfully worked for in the past and what your business or service can do for the company or person you are writing the letter too. There are plenty other ways to advertise your business but business intro letters are effective because it allows you to be direct and focus on that specific market you are targeting.

Putting together a well written letter is a skill lost by the new generation. Although the letter is more economical and faster it is still rarely used by up-and-coming business professionals. This single method of first impression communication will allow the reader the chance to depict your actual business sense. A business letter is personal yet still professional. It is important to learn the art of business writing because this world is built off communication and making major business deals. Learning the core way to a first impression will only benefit you in your future business endeavors.
