Three Cheap and Easy Ways to Market

By: Robert Frapples

One of the most common questions asked by new small business or website owners is how to get their name out there with little or no money for marketing. There are hundreds of ways to get the traffic flowing in your direction. While billboards, paid advertisements and commercials may be in the future, you must focus on the here and now. Below are three basic ways to let your name be heard. Use these cheap and easy marketing ideas to get the traffic you want and the customers you deserve.

Three Cheap and Easy Ways to Market:

  1. Use the Yellow Pages to your utmost advantage. While getting out the "the dark ages" is very important to the survival of any small business, it must not be disregarded that people still use their phone books. Unlike the newspaper, most listings are fairly cheap and last a whole year long. Including your website in your listing is a great way to find potential online consumers. With modern technology the way it is now, most people would rather visit a website than pick up a phone to gather information.
  2. Send promotional items to potential costumers. This very productive idea can be a lot of fun for the more creative business owners. The items you choose to send should have something to do with your business, but do not necessarily have to. One cheap idea could be buttons with your URL on them. Save money on shipping by dropping them off door by door, or giving them to the first fifty strangers your meet that day. People love free things so the possibilities are endless.
  3. Get reviews on your website, blog or small business. Have your friends, family and co-workers visit your website, blog or place of business and ask them to write a short review of their experience. Use their positive words in quotes on your homepage, business cards or even frame them in your office. Ask for them to grant you the permission first. Submit their reviews around the world wide web. Not only will people see that others have used your services or bought your product, but they will see that people have had good experiences conducting business with you.

Always remember that money is not your limit.
The only limits are your creativity and your willingness to get up, get out there and let your name be heard.
