Beginner Baking Recipes

Baking-9

If you are new to baking recipes, it is important not only to read up on measurements and baking cookware but it is also equally important to practice your craft. Baking is like any sport or hobby: The more you do it, the better you will become. Once you master the easiest of baking recipes, then you will be able to move on to more complicated endeavors.

The following two recipes will provide a beginning baker with a kick start:

Morning Glory Yellow Cake
Ingredients You Will Need:
½ cup of butter, softened
⅓ cup of shortening, softened
3 medium-sized eggs
2 ¼ cups of all-purpose flour
2 ½ teaspoons of baking powder
1 ½ cups of low-fat milk
1 ½ teaspoons of vanilla extract
1 ½ cups of sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
1 can of frosting

To start with, preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and layer two cake pans with a little oil and flour. Follow this by creaming the butter and shortening with a hand mixer and then mixing in the eggs. Next, mix together the rest of the ingredients until fully blended. Pour the mix into the cake pans and bake them for 20 to 25 minutes. You’ll know they’re done if you insert a knife and it comes out clean. Let the cakes cool on a wire rack before frosting.
