Low-fat banana bread satisfies your sweet tooth and cuts unnecessary calories from your diet. Everyone loves a warm and moist banana bread fresh out of the oven, but not everyone loves the number of calories that go along with it. It is possible to alter the traditional recipe in order to slim down on fat and calorie content. Low-fat banana bread is just as easy to make and even easier to enjoy.

Ingredients You Will Need:
¾ cup sugar
1 cup mashed ripe bananas
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 ¾ cups flour
" cup buttermilk
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees. Beat the eggs and sugar in a large bowl until the mixture is thick. Stir in the mashed bananas, oil, vanilla extract and the buttermilk. Sift in the baking soda, baking powder, flour and salt and blend until the mixture is smooth.

Pour the mixture into a greased loaf pan and bake for about one hour. If you decide to preheat your oven to 350 degrees, bake for about 45 to 50 minutes. Serve with a warm cup of tea or coffee.

To store the banana nut bread, wrap it in plastic wrap and keep away from heat. Be sure to slice it before serving.
