In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients together, stirring until well blended. Mix wet ingredients, one by one, according to order listed. Add nuts last. Mix until all dry ingredients have been moistened and then pour batter into greased loaf pans. Bake for one hour in an oven that has been preheated to 325 degrees.

Change the taste of this recipe by substituting applesauce for crushed pineapple.

Pour the batter into two greased bread pans and bake at 350 degrees for 75 minutes. Check for doneness after 50 minutes by inserting a toothpick into the bread. If the toothpick comes out clean, the bread is done.
