Funnel Cake Batter Recipe
Ingredients You Will Need:
Oil for deep fryer
3 eggs, beaten
2 cups milk (Use fat-free or skim)
4 cups flour
½ teaspoon salt
" cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking soda
Powdered sugar
Beat your eggs in a bowl. Combine all of your ingredients with the eggs. Mix thoroughly until it forms a thick batter. Heat your oil in a deep fryer until it reaches about 370 degrees. Take your funnel and cover the opening. Pour your batter into the funnel and place directly over the fryer. Start to drip your mixture into the oil in a zig-zag pattern, swirling the batter around.
Be sure to only fry the batter for about two to three minutes. If you cook it longer, it won't come out correctly. Be careful to take the funnel cake out of the fryer and place it on a pile of paper towels. Pat the towels over the cake gently to get rid of any extra oil. Shake powdered sugar over the top of the funnel cake ring and it's ready to be served.
