Ingredients You Will Need:
4 ounces of semisweet chocolate
2 tablespoons of margarine, melted
3 eggs
1 ¼ cups of pecan halves
?" cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 cup of corn syrup (light or dark)
1 9-inch pie shell, homemade or frozen
How to Make Pecan Pie
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Take the chocolate and margarine and melt them in a double boiler. You'll want to let the mixture cool before proceeding. While the chocolate and margarine mixture is cooling, take the eggs and beat them lightly in a medium-sized bowl. Add the corn syrup, chocolate mixture (if cooled), vanilla and sugar and mix until well blended. Mix the pecans into the mixture.
Take your pie shell and set it on a baking sheet. Pour in the filling. Bake the pie for 50 to 55 minutes. Test to see if the pie is finished by inserting a knife into the pie's middle. If the knife comes out clean, the pie is finished cooking.
Make sure to let the pie cool before slicing. You can cool the pie on a cooling rack or somewhere safe, like a kitchen counter that is out of the way. The pie is safe to cut once it's at room temperature. Add a dollop of whipped cream for a creamy finish to your pie.
