If you're considering grilling up frozen salmon burgers, know you're settling for second best. While frozen salmon burgers can be pretty good, you'll really want to mix up your own fresh salmon with delicious additions. You'll also want to buy or whip up a grilling sauce or glaze to seal in moisture and perfect the burger.
Before grilling, always prepare your grill by oiling it with vegetable oil. Cook salmon burgers at medium heat and make sure salmon patties are no thicker than ¾ of an inch.
Salmon Burger Recipe
Aioli
½ cup mayonnaise (For best results, make your own homemade mayonnaise)
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lime juice
Soy Glaze
�" cup soy sauce
�" cup honey
Salmon Burgers
1 pound salmon, chopped
1 egg, slightly beaten
½ cup bread crumbs
2 tablespoons aioli
2 tablespoons sour cream
1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lime juice
1 teaspoon fresh mint, finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
4 buns
Combine ingredients for aioli in a small bowl. Set aside two tablespoons in a large mixing bowl for salmon burgers.
Combine ingredients for glaze in a small bowl. Set by grill.
Butter insides of buns.
Mix ingredients together for salmon burgers. Form into four patties, no more than ¾ of an inch thick. Oil your grill with olive oil or vegetable oil. Preheat grill to medium heat. Place burgers on grill and brush tops with glaze. Close grill cover and cook for three minutes. Flip burgers. Brush tops with glaze. Cover grill and cook for three additional minutes. Place buns, buttered sides down, on the grill and toast them lightly. Serve on toasted buns with a dollop of aioli, sliced cucumbers and a sprig of fresh mint. Enjoy!
