It's not difficult to make a perfect hamburger--you just need a few fun ingredients and some grilling know-how. Grilling hamburgers can put a new spin on an old favorite, if you've never tried to grill homemade hamburgers before. If you have, and you are used to grilling plain hamburger patties, then try this delectable grilling recipe.
Grilled Homemade Hamburger Recipe
Ingredients You Will Need:
2 pounds ground beef
1 large egg
½ cup seasoned bread crumbs
1 tbs. ketchup
1 tsp. salt
1 ½ tsp. pepper
1 ½ tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. cajun seasoning
2 drops Louisiana hot sauce
Mix all of the ingredients together. Form patties. You can make any size patties you wish. Just remember that the thicker they are, the longer they will take to cook.
Grill the burgers on medium heat so they do not fall apart. Flip them only once, as they tend to crumble into the flames if you constantly move them around.
Just before the burgers are done, brush the buns with melted butter and toast them on the grill. Serve with your favorite condiments and veggies.
Making Grilled Barbecue Burgers
You can also use the same recipe to make barbecue burgers. Put your favorite sauce in a thick-bottomed pan and place on a cool part of the grill while cooking the burgers.
Once you flip the burger the first time, baste the top side with the barbecue sauce. When the other side is done cooking, flip it again (you now have a fully cooked burger, so flipping it at this stage won't make it crumble) and baste with the barbecue sauce.
You only need to leave this on the grill an extra couple of minutes, so if you like your burgers on the rare side, you may want to do this just before each side has finished cooking.
Serve with condiments, lettuce, tomato and onion slices.
