Delicious Roast Turkey Breast Recipe

A roast turkey breast recipe may require a roasting pan or a chicken pot, but you can also make a moist roasted turkey breast by using a cooking bag. You don't want the plastic bag to touch the hot racks in the oven or leak, so you will need a cookie sheet or a foil roaster.

When you use a cooking bag, make sure you cut several slits into the top of the bag to allow steam to escape. Because the majority of the steam and all of the juicy goodness of the meat is kept intact by the bag, turkey breast cooked this way is extremely tender and delicious.

Roast Turkey Breast Recipe
Ingredients You Will Need:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon sage
1 teaspoon thyme
¼ cup minced celery
¼ cup minced onion
¼ cup minced carrots
1 cup chicken broth
1 turkey breast
1 roasting bag

Mix the olive oil and butter together, and add the spices. Set aside.

Mix the minced vegetables with the chicken broth, and set aside.

Place the turkey breast into the roasting bag, and place the bag into a shallow pan. Using sandwich bags as gloves, and taking care not to get oil all over the roasting bag, smear the spiced oil on the turkey. Make sure the entire turkey is covered with oil. Pull the open end of the bag up and out of the shallow pan. This will keep the broth and veggies from escaping when you pour them into the bottom of the bag.

Tie the open end of the bag shut, and make several slits in the top of the bag. Place the pan into an oven that has been preheated to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure the bag does not touch the sides or racks in the oven. Roast for approximately 1½ hours. Because oven times vary, after the first 45 minutes check every 15 minutes for doneness. When in doubt, insert a meat thermometer. The turkey is done when the temperature reaches 170 degrees Fahrenheit.
