By: Cheryl Bowman

Crock-pots allow you to make all sorts of soups, stews, roasts, and best of all, crock-pot meatballs. There are a plethora of recipes for crock-pot meatballs to choose from whether you want to create delectable beef meatballs, turkey meatballs or even chicken meatballs.

The crock-pot is actually a slow cooker. The appliance is great for bringing food to a large gathering. You can plug it in and leave it on low, keeping the food warm for extended periods of time.

Meatball Basics
Meatballs did not originate in any one place. Some cultures, such as Turkish cuisine, feature more than 80 different types of meatballs. While meatballs are typically made from beef, pork or veal, the Chinese have a fish ball variant.

When people immigrated to the United States, they brought their meatball recipes with them. Over the years, these recipes have evolved into many other types of meatball recipes, including crock-pot barbecue meatballs. These barbecue meatballs can be made with frozen or homemade meatballs.
