By using steak fingers instead of a whole steak, you can enjoy even more breading.
Chicken Fried Steak Fingers
Ingredients You Will Need:
1/2 cup flour, plus 4 tablespoons
Salt, pepper and garlic powder, to taste
Round steak or cube steak, cut into strips
1 package Saltine crackers, finely crushed
Oil, for frying
4 tablespoons butter
1 cup milk
Mix together the flour and the spices, and add enough water to make a runny paste. Cover the steak in the paste, Spread the cracker crumbs out on waxed paper, and cover the steak with the cracker crumbs. Fry in hot oil until golden brown.
For the gravy, if you use a pan to fry the steak in, drain off the oil, leaving as much of the drippings as possible. Melt the butter in the pan, and then add remaining flour. Stir until thickened. Add milk, stirring constantly. Add salt and pepper to taste. Stir until bubbly and thick.
