This recipe is similar to the sweet and sour chicken you'll find at a Chinese restaurant, only the chicken itself isn't breaded and fried.
Sweet and Sour Chicken
Ingredients You Will Need:
8 ounces canned pineapple chunks, plus syrup
2 pounds chicken parts
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 cup vinegar
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 large onion
1 cup chicken broth
1 medium green pepper
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup water
Drain pineapple, reserving syrup. In skillet brown chicken in butter. Pour off fat. Add reserved syrup, broth, brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce and onion. Cover, and cook over low heat 40 minutes. Add green pepper and pineapple; cook 5 minutes. Combine cornstarch and water, and gradually stir into sauce.
