It's not difficult to learn how to make bruschetta and you can jazz up a basic recipe with just about any ingredient you want. Because an easy bruschetta is on everyone's menu as a delectable Italian appetizer, here is one that will intoxicate your guests. It only has six ingredients and takes approximately 20 minutes from preparation to plate. One of the main ingredients is a Fuji apple, which is sweet, crisp and can be found all year round.
Apple and Goat Cheese Bruschetta
Ingredients You Will Need:
French Baguette or loaf Italian Bread
1 medium Fuji apple (peeled, cored and chopped)
Goat cheese, crumbled
¾ teaspoon fresh thyme, minced
½ teaspoon fresh oregano, minced
¼ teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
Begin by preheating your broiler. Then place your slices of bread on an ungreased baking sheet. Drizzle the slices of bread with olive oil. Next, broil the bread three to four inches from the heat for one to two minutes or until golden brown. Mix the apple, goat cheese and spices together in a bowl, and sprinkle the mixture on top of the bread. Broil the slices 1oneminute longer until the cheese has softened. This will make 16 servings.
Apple and Goat Cheese Bruschetta Variations
You can also change the way you choose to cook your bruschetta. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees and bake for ten minutes. By adding walnuts or watercress to your mixture of ingredients, you can make your hors d'oeuvres a treat for the hearty palate. To add a zing to your finished bruschetta, just drizzle some honey or your favorite salad dressing on the top before serving.
