An Easy Crockpot Chili Recipe

Making chili is even easier with a good crockpot chili recipe. If you have the time or plan to make this meal the day before, it's certainly the way to go. Gather your ingredients ahead of time so you'll be prepared. Once you've gotten all the ingredients, fire it up, and don't worry about it for about six to eight hours.

Crock Pot Chili Recipe
Ingredients You Will Need:
2 lbs lean ground chuck
1 cup onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 large can crushed tomatoes (or diced)
1 can tomato sauce
2 cans kidney beans, undrained
3 teaspoons chili powder
Hot pepper to taste (optional)
Salt, pepper to taste

First, you need to brown your ground chuck meat in a skillet. When it's finished, drain well and set aside. Then toss the onions, garlic, celery, tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, chili powder, hot pepper and the salt and pepper into the crock pot. Add in the meat, and give it a good stir. Then let the slow cooker simmer on low for about six to eight hours. When it's ready to be served, you can garnish your chili with a dollop of sour cream, some chopped red onion and tortilla strips.

Get creative when perfecting your own chili recipe at home. Try adding in chicken, pork or bacon. If beef isn't your thing, add in extra veggies like zucchini and eggplant for a vegetarian chili. Try other variations, like white chicken chili that's filled with veggies and beans. Also add in a can of beer to liven things up a bit. A Corona would certainly do the trick!
