Shrimp Ceviche Recipe
Ingredients You Will Need:
2 to 3 lbs of small, raw shrimp (deveined)
6 lemons, juiced
6 limes, juiced
1 orange, juiced
2 tomatoes, diced
½ of a cucumber, chopped
1 red onion, chopped
1 cup cilantro leaves
3 tablespoons tomato sauce
1 serrano chile (seeded and chopped)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Start with a large glass baking dish, and spread the shrimp along the bottom of it. Season them with lemon, lime and orange juice, and let refrigerate for about three hours. Next, stir in the remaining ingredients, coating thoroughly, and refrigerate for another hour. Now the shrimp is ready to be served. You can put a tiny portion of the shrimp ceviche into martini glasses and serve to guests at dinner parties. The shrimp also goes well when served with tortilla chips or over rice.
Variations
One great way to flavor the ceviche is by adding ketchup and mustard. Take ½ cup of bottled ketchup and 1 tablespoon of mustard to add to the recipe above. Once your shrimp has marinated in the lemon and lime juice, add the ketchup and mustard and remaining liquids before refrigerating again for another hour.
Be sure to use only the freshest ingredients when making the ceviche. Any other type of fish can be substituted for this recipe such as mussels, conch, squid or tuna.
