
If you love fresh shrimp, then any shrimp scampi recipe will likely please your palette. Recipes for shrimp scampi may vary slightly from person to person, but the classics all start with some fresh shrimp, melted butter and hefty dose of garlic.
Classic Shrimp Scampi Recipe
Ingredients You Will Need:
1/4 cup butter
2 tsp minced garlic
1lb peeled and deveined, large shrimp (not jumbo)
1 tablespoon fresh, minced parsley
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
Add butter to a large skillet and place skillet over medium heat. Add garlic to skillet and melt butter. When butter starts foaming, quickly add shrimp to skillet. Makes sure to place shrimp spaced evenly apart, with each individual shrimp in full contact with the skillet.
Cook shrimp for a little less than two minutes on each side. Remove skillet from heat and place shrimp in a serving bowl, leaving the sauce in the skillet. Carefully add parsley, lemon juice, black pepper and salt to the skillet. Mix well, pour over shrimp and garnish with parmesan cheese. Serve alone, on toast tips or over pasta
