Dessert doesn't have to be a big ordeal. This recipe can be made quickly after dinner and is perfect for capping off almost any meal.
Maple Praline Banana Split
Ingredients You Will Need:
½ cup maple syrup
¼ cup heavy cream
¼ cup chopped pecans
2 tablespoons butter
4 bananas, peeled and halved lengthwise
4 big scoops your favorite vanilla ice cream
Combine the first three ingredients in a small pan over medium heat. Bring to a gentle simmer and allow to reduce to a thick sauce, about 15 minutes. When there are only a few minutes left, melt the butter in a medium-sized pan over medium-high heat and add the bananas. Cook until they are brown on both sides but not mushy, two minutes per side maximum, be sure not to overcook them. When the sauce is ready, lay the bananas out on a platter and pour it over them. Top with the ice cream and serve immediately.
