If you're looking for easy turnip recipes, you'll be delighted to discover how many things you can do with this unique root vegetable. The turnip is one of those love-it-or-hate-it foods. Some people find the bitterness of turnips delectable; others find it repulsive. Try these root vegetable recipes to see if the sweetness of these recipes doesn't make the bitterness of the turnips more palatable for you.

Creamed Turnips
Ingredients You Will Need:
2 cups fresh turnips, peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon cream
½ cup sweet applesauce
½ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
Dash ground black pepper

Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Boil turnips until soft enough that they can be easily pierced with a fork, about 15 to 20 minutes. Drain boiling water from turnips, and pour turnips into a food processor. Add butter, cream, applesauce, cinnamon, salt and pepper. Process until well creamed. Serve immediately, and serve hot. If you prefer bigger chunks, you can mash the turnips with a hand potato masher instead of creaming the turnips in the food processor.

Honey Glazed Baked Turnips
Ingredients You Will Need:
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons honey
⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups fresh turnips washed, peeled, and cut into bite-sized pieces
1 teaspoon dried rosemary

Line baking dish with tinfoil, and preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Melt butter in a microwave safe dish. Mix butter, honey, cayenne pepper and salt. Toss turnip pieces in honey/butter mixture, and then spread in baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until turnip pieces are easily pierced with a fork. Toss cooked turnip pieces in sauce in bottom of the baking dish, and then sprinkle with dried rosemary just before serving. Serve hot.
