Crockpot Beef Stew Recipe
Ingredients You Will Need:
1 pound beef stew meat
4 carrots, chopped
1 onion, chopped
3 stalks celery, diced
3 medium potatoes (cut in small pieces)
1 can diced tomatoes
1 beef bouillon cube
1 ½ cups water
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 pinch oregano
1 pinch thyme
Chop all of the onions, carrots, celery and potatoes. Toss them into the crock pot. Drop in the beef itself, along with the beef bouillon cube and water. Top it off with your seasoning and mix thoroughly with a large spoon. Let simmer in the crock pot for about seven hours. Serve warm with a side of crusty bread.
Artichoke Beef Stew
For a slight variation of the traditional recipe, try adding 20 small fresh mushrooms, two jars marinated artichoke hearts (drained and chopped) and a cup of dry red wine after the beef has been cooking for about seven hours. At that time, drop in the mushrooms and artichokes and stir until well incorporated. Let that simmer for another 30 minutes or so before serving.
Experiment With Stew Ingredients
Some people prefer to add noodles instead of potatoes. The noodles go nicely with the beef. You can even drop in a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce for extra flavor. If you want to make the stew without potatoes, you can serve your stew over a plate of fresh, steamed noodles.
