Lamb Stew Recipe

Ingredients You Will Need:
1 ½ pounds of lean lamb stew meat (cubed)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
¼ cup flour
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
2 cups water
1 cup carrots, chopped
1 cup frozen peas
2 cup turnips, chopped
Pinch of fresh parsley and rosemary

Season your lamb and coat it in flour. Sauté the lamb and veggies in the oil for about five minutes. Stir in the water and scrape the leftover bits of the lamb. Transfer it into the crock pot. Add the carrots and turnips. Cook the stew on the lowest setting of your crock pot for about eight to ten hours. When you're almost finished with the recipe, add the frozen bag of peas and stir. Let that simmer for another 40 minutes before serving.

This recipe is similar to an Indian dish and is best served over rice, grits or couscous. Build off of the recipe above by adding two cloves of minced garlic, ½ teaspoon ground cumin, a teaspoon ground ginger, ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon and one can diced tomatoes with juices. You can exclude the rosemary and parsley.

Brown the lamb in a pan with the oil and spices. Add in the vegetables and the can of tomato juice. Bring to a boil. Simmer for about an hour. Serve over potatoes or noodles.
