Most people are aware of the fact that different colors can affect your moods differently, but proponents of color therapy healing assert color can even affect how your body physically responds. What is color therapy, exactly? This form of energy healing taps into the correlation between color-an energy force of its own-and your body's psychological and physical response to color.
Color therapists believe every organ in the body is correlated to a color, and that the body absorbs energy from colored light and sends the healing properties of that colored light to the appropriate body part, stimulating natural color healing therapy capabilities.
Color light therapy can be conducted in several ways. You may use colored cards, where you will gaze at a particular color card, absorbing the color emotionally and visually for minutes at a time. Another form of therapy involves colored light, which is shone onto pressure points along energy meridians of the body. The light is shined from pen lights, the body absorbs the colored light and sends the vibrations or frequency of the colored light to the intended organs or body systems.
Light boxes filter light through colored sheets or paper, shining colored light upon the patient in the desired hue to instigate healing. Still others use meditation as a format, encouraging the patient to meditate, imagining the appropriate color is entering and exiting the patient with every breath. Finally, some color therapists use colored water as part of the session, tinting water with the designated color and leaving it to sit in the sun for several hours. The patient is then asked to drink the water, taking the color directly into the body.
The absorption of colored light is intended to open or stimulate the chakras, since different colors are associated with different chakras. Treatment of specific diseases is also done with color therapy, which is used for everything from dandruff to asthma or rabies. The effectiveness of color therapy for treatment of these maladies is still up for debate.
Energy healing therapy is an ancient practice based on the belief that our life force energy becomes imbalanced during times of stress or physical disease. A complement, not a replacement for Western medicine, it can help reduce stress, manage pain and clear blocked energy believed to cause illness or disease. |
The field of energetic balancing is emerging as an exciting and alternative healing method. Before your knee begins to ache, before Diabetes is diagnosed, before the arthritis sets in, the process begins with an energetic imbalance in your consciousness. |
