Autoimmune Problems
Medical conditions related to the immune system seem to correlate with higher incidents of lymphoma.

If you work or live in an environment that causes you to be in contact with pesticides, fertilizers or solvents, you are at a higher risk level than the general public.

Infections
Certain viruses-such as Epstein Barr and Hepatitis C-and particular bacteria-such as Helicobacter pylori-are common precursors for lymphoma.

Lymphoma is a type of cancer of the blood that affects white blood cells, called lymphocytes. These cells begin to act in unusual ways once lymphoma has set in. They either begin dividing at a rapid rate or they live for a longer time than expected. Chemotherapy and radiation is used to eradicate the cancer cells. If you suspect you have lymphoma, you should see your doctor for tests.
