If you want to get fit, but don't want to join a gym or buy fancy equipment, here are three simple home fitness workouts that will blast calories without blasting through your budget.
Jumping Rope
A jump rope is one simple piece of home fitness equipment that actually provides a surprisingly difficult workout. If you're a jump roping novice, you might want to start by alternating between two minutes of jumping rope (single, double, jogging, slow or fast) with two minutes of recovery activities such as sit-ups, push-ups, holding a plank or walking lunges. You'll get your heart rate up, improve coordination and burn lots of calories.
Backyard Circuit Training
This option works especially well if you have kids at home. You can borrow their outdoor sports equipment to make a challenging obstacle course of circuit training in the backyard. Set up stations and do each activity for two minutes. A few ideas to try: lay down a hula hoop and jump with your legs together in and out of the circle and side to side, have a station set up to jump rope and dribble a basketball up and down the driveway.
Stair Climbing
While some go to the gym to walk on a rolling staircase for flights and flights at a time, you can reap the same benefits by using your actual stairs at home. Walk up the stairs and run back down at a quicker pace. Walk up the stairs two at a time. Use just the bottom step and jump up and back down in a squat position. Whatever you do, do it for at least 15 minutes to get your heart rate up and start burning calories.
Everyone is trying to get healthier nowadays. And the most common way people are improving their health is by following an exercise regime. An exercise regime can help you maintain your ideal body weight, retain or improve muscle strength and mobility, control blood glucose levels, reduce bad cholesterol levels, raise good cholesterol levels, and actually improve your moods. |
If you think you need fancy equipment or membership to a gym to get a good workout, think again. There are very effective home workout routines with no equipment required that will tone your body and burn calories. |
