The Best Exercise to Lose Belly Fat

By: Laura Evans

If you are overweight, you probably need to exercise to lose your belly fat. Exercising regularly and maintaining a good, low fat, balanced diet are the keys to losing any fat, including your belly fat.

There is good news and bad news when looking for the best exercise to lose belly fat. The bad news is that no one exercise will do the trick, because you can't target body fat loss. The good news is that since you will be able to change your exercise program frequently, you will never get bored.

That being said, you might still want to get those tummy muscles taunt as part of your exercise program. First, your stomach will look better as you lose that fatty layer. In addition, strong abdominal muscles can help with your posture and prevent lower back pain. Sit-ups will, as a result, pay off more than you might have anticipated.

You don't have to limit yourself to sit-ups and variations of the theme when doing tummy exercises. For example, try the sitting on a chair and with your fingers facing your knees. Curl your fingers over the edge of the chair. Tighten your abs, bring your feet about two to four inches off of the floor and lift your bottom up off the chair. Hold and repeat. You will look pretty bizarre, but it works.

You can find a number of different abdominal exercises to use by going to your favorite search engine and typing in "abdominal exercises."
