Foot Detox Patches

By: Rachel Mork

Detox foot patches are a method of removing toxins from the body. It is believed that toxins from our environment collect in our bodies and must be removed periodically through different methods. Because your feet contain reflex points which are connected to many parts of your body, proponents of foot detox patches assert that the removal of toxins via pads placed on the feet will also stimulate healing in many parts of your body.

Detox foot pads are placed on the feet because of the concentration of reflex points on the feet. The idea is that when blood pumps through the foot, the patch draws toxins out of the body and onto the pad.  The detox patches can be placed on other parts of the body, but the best results seem to be on the soles and arches of the feet.

To use a detox foot patch with optimal results, drink plenty of water the day you begin usage so the toxins can be flushed from your system easily. Do not drink alcohol while detoxing the feet and do not fast completely during the process. Wash and dry your feet, making sure you have removed any lotion or medication that may block the pores. Some people like to soak their feet in warm water before applying the food pads since they feel this will open the pores and allow easier detoxification. Place the foot pads on the arches of your soles and then cover your feet with socks since the pads are activated by heat and your skin's moisture. Keep the patches on for ten hours.

When you remove the foot pads the next morning, you should see a discoloring of the pads. The darker the pads, the more your body needs to detox. Continue using the foot patches until you no longer get a lot of discoloration on the detox foot patches. Once you have gotten most of the toxins out, detox once a week or so.

A detox foot patch can be used for a variety of ailments. They are recommended for joint pain relief, rejuvenation of energy and to enhance sleep.
