Liver Detox Juice Recipe

By: Julie Knapp

Your liver's purpose in the body is to filter toxins and wastes, but when a poor diet and indulgent lifestyle begin to take its toll, you might want to detox your body. A liver detox juice recipe can help cleanse the organ and improve your liver's function to secrete enzymes and fight further toxin buildup.

For this particular recipe, it's important to use fresh fruits and vegetables in a juicer, not to mix store bought juices. A drink made from fresh produce naturally has a higher enzyme level and more important nutrients. You should drink this juice as a fast over a three-day period or weekend to give your liver a gentle flush.

Start by squeezing two large grapefruits and four lemons into the juicer. Grate two cloves of fresh garlic and two inches of fresh ginger root. Squeeze both together in a garlic press to release the juice. Next fill the juicer with water, add one teaspoon of acidophilus and one tablespoons of cold pressed flax oil. Feel free to add more garlic or ginger to suit your taste.
