Loosing Weight

By: Shirley A Billingsley

Loosing weight has always been an undesireable thing for many people. The reason being that "going hungry" has always been a hard thing for anyone to do.

Loosing weight does not have to mean going hungry or doing without. With just a little common sense, and the basic foods, you can eat and loose weight at the same time.

A few things that you can get rid of are: whole milk (i know), sugar, cream cheese, frosting, ice cream, cooking grease, fat meats, and sugared tea, and butter.

Now, if you are serious about loosing weight, and staying healthy, then make out your shopping list, and pick up some : sweet and low, yogurt,  peanut butter, fresh vegetables, chicken, hamburger meat,  some steak (if you wish), fruits, vegetable oil, and powdered or low fat milk, don't forget the lettuce and tomatoes.

That does not sound like much of a shopping list, but you would be surprised at what you can make with just a few simple ingredients, that actually does taste good.  Get fresh vegetables and fruits to cook. If fresh items are not available for you, then try to get frozen. Not only are they better for you than canned goods, they contain less chemicals.

Replace that cooking grease with vegetable oil. It has less calories, and if you use just the bare minimum of oil when you cook, it will last you three times longer. Don't buy loaves of bread, but instead, try making your own. Not only will it taste better, but you will get exercise by heading into the kitchen and moving around while you are cooking.

Anytime you perform an action, whether it is heading for the kitchen, reading, writing, walking, or even laughing, you are using calories. That is a plus, so get busy doing what ever you like to do best.

Make yourself up a fruit or vegetable  tray for late in the evenings. Have it ready, and enjoy. It is healthy, nutritious, and you are not taking in nearly as many calories, as with anything else. A salad is also another great meal for late in the evenings, but only use about three to four tablespoons of dressing on your salad, and add crackers on the side.
