Try this easy recipe for making body butter. Play around with the recipe's scent and ingredients based on your own preferences, as the scent should be something you'd use for yourself or want to give to others. If the smell of banana is not pleasing to you, try mango or apple. The following recipe should make about ten ounces of body butter.
Ingredients You Will Need:
6 ounces of shea butter or mango butter (refined or unrefined)
1 ounce of virgin coconut oil
1 ounce of jasmine wax
½ teaspoon of Vitamin E
2 to 4 drops of rose otto
How to Make Your Own Body Butter
Mix the shea butter with an electric mixer until its texture is soft.
While the butter is mixing in the mixer, take the coconut oil and floral wax and heat them on low heat. You want the wax to melt, but not to overheat, as this will ruin the texture of the body butter. To ensure the wax is the right texture, turn the heat off right before it is fully melted, as it will melt slowly once the heat is off.
Turn off the mixer and while the butter is still warm, pour the oil mixture into the butter mixture. Add your other ingredients and mix again. Set the mixer on a medium-high level until the mixture is creamy in texture. Once mixed to the desired texture, pour the butter into containers and allow to cool. Be sure to cover the butter so that it does not become contaminated.
