By: Denise Oliveri

It is easy to get an elegant picture with inexpensive materials when making mosaic corn crafts for kids. It is fun to create mosaic art with corn. You can make gifts for just about anyone, as you can make a million designs using your imagination and ideas from magazines or photos.

Craft Difficulty Rating: Easy

You Will Need:

  • Unpopped corn kernels

  • Paper plates

  • Spray paint (in various colors)

  • Glue

  • Pencil

Instructions:

  1. Divide corn kernels on separate paper plates in equal piles.

  2. Spray paint each pile of corn according to the colors that you want to use for your picture. Spraying outside would be best. Be sure to cover your area with newspaper to avoid getting paint on the grass, driveway, etc. Let corn dry.

  3. While the corn is drying, lightly draw a design on the bottom of a paper plate with a pencil. You will use this as your guide for making the picture.

  4. When the corn is dried, apply glue to one area of your design and glue pieces of corn to the plate. When you are done with that section, apply glue to another section and begin gluing corn. It is easiest to start at the top of your design and work your way down. Let dry.

  5. Now you have a beautiful picture that you can hang or give as a gift.
