Street Magic Tricks Revealed: Hypnotized Fingers
This is a terrific trick because the body naturally forces the trick. Your patter and drama are the keys to a great performance.
Have a participant clasp his or her hands together, fingers interlaced. Then, ask the participant to point the two index fingers straight up and away from each other, while keeping the thumbs and other fingers still clasped.
Wave your hands over the participant's hands, telling your subject to "resist," because you are going to make those index fingers touch.
Sit and try the trick yourself. It works beautifully. This is why what you say makes a huge difference in the "wow" effect of this.
Street Magic Tricks Revealed: Coin through Hand
Hold your left arm and hand horizontally in front of you. Clench your left fist so that the fist looks closed to the audience but has an open hole facing you.
Place a coin on top of your clenched fist. Using your right hand, rub the coin to make it "go through your hand." As you are rubbing the coin, you are actually pushing it towards the open hole in your fist. You will need to use your left thumb to help force the coin through the hole.
When you have captured the coin inside of your left hand, move your right hand away. No coin! At the same time, open your fist just enough so that the coin falls out of your hand and drops.
Street Magic Tricks Revealed: Balance a Coin
Hide a straight pin between the first two fingers of your right hand. If you are left handed, reverse the instructions.
Take a large coin out of your pocket or ask for a coin from someone in your audience. Pass the coin around so that everyone knows that the coin is real.
Hold your hand-with-a-straight-pin palm up. Place the coin over the straight pin. As you are lifting the coin up towards the tips of those two fingers with your right hand, pull the pin up as well to support the coin. You will have to squeeze the pin to keep it in place. After a short period of time, loosen up on the pin so that the coin slowly falls back on your fingers.
While your audience is examining the coin again, get rid of the straight pin and move on to the next trick.
