Pinecone Ornaments
This one is fun and easy to do especially if you live were pine cones are plentiful. If pinecones aren't available in your area check your local craft store, you can buy them by the bagful there. For this easy to make craft you will need:

  • Pinecones
  • Craft glue
  • Ribbon or ornament hooks
  • Glitter - sliver, gold, red or green

What you do:
Spread craft glue on the tips of the pinecone tips. Then sprinkle the glitter onto the glue. Be sure and spread newspaper under the pinecones. If you use a blank sheet of paper for each different colored glitter you can save it and reuse what falls off when you sprinkle. Let the glue dry and attach a ribbon or ornament hook to the top and hang on the tree.

Christmas Placemats
Make some fun Christmas placemats to decorate the holiday table by using old Christmas cards from years gone by. Simply remove the back of the cards and lay the cards in a pleasing arrangement onto a piece of cardstock. When you get them the way you want glue them in place. Laminate or cover with clear ConTac paper. If using the ConTac paper be sure and cover the back as well.

Snowflakes
This one requires adult participation. Get a bowl of cold water and place it on your work area. Purchase glitter glue sticks for your glue gun. Place the glue sticks in the gun and drizzle the glue onto the top of the cold water in an interesting design. Remove the cooled glue snowflake from the water and it will stick to a winter or other smooth surface just like a window cling.
