Create great felt crafts with a few simple supplies you can find around your home. This candy cane pillow is fun to make and looks absolutely adorable when it is done. You Will Need:
Two sheets of white felt, 9" x 12"
Red or white thread
Sewing needle
Polyfil
Scrap pieces of red and white felt
Scissors
Tacky glue
Instructions:
Line up the two pieces of white felt so they are even.
Thread your needle with either red or white thread. Begin sewing in a loop fashion and continue all the way around the pillow until you are 3/4 of the way done. Tie off a knot with the thread to secure.
Turn the pillow inside out and be sure to push at the corners to get them out as well.
Fill the pillow with Polyfil to your desired amount, depending on how flat or fluffy you want the pillow to be.
Continue sewing the rest of the pillow to seal it shut completely.
Cut two candy cane shapes from red felt. Crisscross the candy canes in the center of the pillow and glue them down. Cut stripes for the candy canes with scrap pieces of white felt. Glue them down onto the candy canes.
Cut two smaller candy canes from red felt. Glue them to the pillow in the top corners. Now the pillow is complete.
