Need some homemade Christmas gift ideas? What better gift to give adoring friends and family than a photo of your children in a handmade Christmas picture frame? Making a unique Christmas picture frame is a fast and fun project that will make your children's Christmas photo even more special. You can customize each picture frame for the recipient or you can decide to give everyone on your gift list identical frames.
To complete either of these projects, you will need to buy inexpensive wood or cardboard picture frames from your craft store. If you have an old picture frame or two lying around the house, you may want to recycle them into Christmas picture frames. For the gift-wrapped Christmas picture frame, you will also need decoupage glue, spray on varnish or sealer, pretty Christmas print tissue paper, ribbon, a bow, and a gift tag. For the evergreen Christmas picture frame, you will need gold or red paint, a hot glue gun, artificial evergreens, and a small artificial Poinsettia flower or ornament.
Gift wrapped Christmas picture frame
1. Remove the glass, backing, and mat from the frame to avoid damaging them. If the frame is wooden or plastic, you will need to lightly sand the surface so that the decoupage glue will adhere easily.
2. Tear the Christmas tissue paper into strips.
3. Coat the frame in the decoupage glue.
4. Wrap the frame with the tissue paper, overlapping each strip slightly.
5. When the entire frame is covered with tissue paper, allow it to dry thoroughly.
6. Next, spray on a coat of the sealer and allow it to dry as well.
7. Now wrap the frame in ribbon, so that it looks like a Christmas package.
8. Attach the bow and gift tag to one corner of the frame.
9. Re-assemble the frame and insert the photo.

2. Paint the frame in red or gold paint and allow it to dry thoroughly.
3. Arrange the evergreen pieces so that they look attractive. Use the glue gun to attach the pieces to the frame.
4. Attach the artificial flower to the lower right hand corner of the frame.
5. Re-assemble the frame and insert the photo.
