• If you are a bit unsure about completing a project that uses techniques and materials that are completely new to you or you have problems with procrastination, check to see if the craft shop offers classes. Sign up for a class, complete your project during your class session and wrap it up.
• Remember the art of letter writing? Write a letter or poem from your heart. You can just tuck it into an envelope, but why not add one more step to make that letter into a treasured heirloom. Create a framed collage with your written piece by combining it with a photo of you and your mother taken during your childhood. You can also add a few mementos, such as a ticket stub from a favorite event, a tiny square from a favorite baby dress, etc.

Finally, if you just don't have time to make gifts this year, there is no shame in simply buying something special that someone else has handmade for a Christmas gift for your mom.
