Gothic Halloween costumes are not only fitting for the holiday, they tend to be hot themes for tweens and teens. If you're feeling a little dark and different, then Halloween is a great time of year to let those feelings show.

If you want something slightly removed from the common themes, try a very scary and very insane clown. Nothing says gothic like taking an image usually associated with happiness and making it a frightening spectacle.

There are tons of full-head masks available that give you almost everything you need for a scary clown. You can even find masks with insane red eyes, a snarled mouth, dripping blood and sharp, yellow teeth.

If you want to paint your face instead of wearing a mask, think about investing in some great costume wigs. Try a white clown's wig oozing with brains and blood. Get a black jester's hat with an axe that looks like it's slicing into your head. These cheap wigs are a simple way to tie a homemade costume together.
