Drinking Blood is Healthy? The Truth about Vampires

By: Brandy Burgess

Beyond popular belief, vampires do really exist in the real world. Vampires have recently been very popular in many modern television shows and 20th century movies. Unlike the vampires that you see on the big screen, real life vampires have completely different qualities.

What are Vampires?

People perceive vampires to be pale skinned, blood thirsty creatures that stay out of the sun and creep about during the night. Many people categorize these people as monsters or the undead. Many are not aware that real life vampires exist and that they are as harmless as you and me.

Just like the traditional "movie" vampires, real life vampires do drink blood. Most real life vampires do not kill for blood nor consume the blood as their only source of food. Modern day vampires only require a small amount of blood, usually just a few ounces, to satisfy their hunger.

How to Spot a Vampire

Not everyone who claims to be a vampire is the real deal. There are many psychopaths and criminals who go on killing sprees claiming to be vampires. Such killings are not to blame on real vampires and the acts are not those of modern day vampirism.

It's also important to know that not all vampires drink blood. The vampires that do consume blood do it as a way to acquire a "chi", or life force. Drinking blood for a vampire is not a habit or something that a person just starts as a hobby. Vampires drink blood because of an intense hunger for the taste. Vampires or blood feeders are they are commonly known, have a natural instinct for this type of act.

Qualities of Vampires

A common trademark of the vampire is their piercing sharp fangs. In real life, vampires do not have these fangs. Actually, vampires look just like a normal person and you would probably not be able to pick one out of a crowd. Vampires do however have special qualities that an average person does not.

Vampires usually grow old slower then the average person. This may be because of the extra nourishment they get from the blood they consume. Vampires also have a special trait that allows them to maintain a younger appearance and stay healthy. Vampires are usually people who are not able to maintain chi through life so they choose to get their chi from an ultimate source, blood.
