These baby shower craft ideas are simple and fun and can be made ahead of time and given as favors, used as decorations or centerpieces, or created as a group activity during the shower.
Baby Shoe Centerpiece
Materials:
Remove the laces from the baby shoe and replace them with the yarn. After threading the yarn through the eyelets, slide the bells onto the yarn and tie the ends in a bow.
Cut the florists foam to fit inside the shoe. Arrange the Baby's Breath or other flowers in the florists foam.
Baby Shower Candles
Materials:
Arrange the cookie cutters on a sheet of wax paper. Melt the candle wax using a stove or microwave. Pour the hot wax into the cookie cutters. Center a length of wick in each candle and allow the wax to harden overnight. After the wax sets up, pop the candles out of the cookie cutters. The candles can be embellished with flowers, paint or glitter. As a finishing touch, they can also be wrapped in cellophane for use as favors.
No-Sew Fleece Blankets
Materials:
Cut a 58-inch square from each fabric. Put the wrong sides of the fabric together and align the edges. Make cuts that are 1" wide and 5" deep all around the fabric to create a fringe. Start with one piece of fringe, and make an overhand knot with the front and back pieces. Continue knotting the fringes all around the edges to complete the blanket.
Decorated Onesie
Materials:
Wash and dry the onesie, but be sure not to use fabric softener. Cut a piece of cardboard to fit inside the onesie. Tape a piece of wax paper to the cardboard. Insert this into the onesie, wax paper side up. This will keep the paint from seeping through to the other side.
Decide on a pattern. Put a layer of fabric paint on a stamp, and press the stamp firmly but gently onto the fabric. Lift the stamp straight up from the fabric to avoid drips and smears. Continue until your design is complete. Allow the onesie to dry for at least four hours before handling.
