Plan ahead the categories for judging - funniest, most creative, silliest, most elegant. Everyone has to parade down the "runway" and there PJs get judged. You can even have a bedroom slipper judging contest too. Consider having a theme for your pajama contest. For example, everyone has to come as their favorite cartoon character.

Pick a Fun Theme
Choosing a theme can add spark to your next pajama party. Your theme can be anything - a western theme, a luau, Mexican night - whatever you like. Then center your activities around the theme. Play pajama party music that goes with the theme. Have simple snacks prepared ahead of time or plan a simple dish that the kids can fix themselves. Make sure you let you your guests know what the theme is so they can come dressed for the theme.

Some Simple Pajama Party Theme Ideas

  • Make a Pillow Friend: For this event have everyone bring a pillowcase with them. • Old Movie Night. Bring out the popcorn, candy bars, pop, pillows and blankets for old movie night. Send out invitations in the shape of movie tickets. Rent some old black and white comedies and treat the kids to a glimpse of the past.
  • Makeover Night. Gather up the cold cream, facial cream, eye shadow, lipstick and fingernail polish for this girlie night. Make sure the girls bring their hairbrushes and mascara. Set up different stations throughout the house - a facial station, pedicure station and hair washing and drying station. Be sure and take lots of pictures of the transformations.
