A great way to kick off a victorious and stimulating tea is to charm your guests with unique tea party invitations.
Before starting on your invitations, though, you first need to figure out the overall theme of your tea party.
For example, maybe you are doing a Treasure Tea. You can go to a local craft store and purchase little wooden treasure boxes (approximately $1 to $1.50 each). Paint them to your liking. It can be the typical treasure-box look or paint them the color of your theme. You can get small candies or coin trinkets that fit inside. If you'd like, you can make a tiny scroll with the invitation directions or a scripture.
"Please bring something (or someone) with you that you consider a treasure. You will be sharing."
Roll the scroll up and tie with a golden string. On the computer, type up the what, when and where information as if you were printing labels. Print them out on card stock and cut them out in squares with fancy scissors. Use rubber cement to stick them on the inside lid of the treasure box.
These invitations are best delivered by hand or shipped in a small box. With fancy, fun invitations like these, your guests are bound to clear their calendars to attend your tea party.
Your invitations do not have to be tangible objects like a treasure box. They can still be in card form, just be sure to make them interesting. For a Baby Shower Tea, you can make the invitations in the shape of an umbrella. For a Christmas Tea, you can make a three-dimensional poinsettia invitation. Just make sure that you do not invite by e-mail or phone for a party. Be personal and be unique.
Remember, make it fun, make it enticing and go with your theme of your tea party.
