Good Valentine box ideas can impress your loved one so much that he won't even care what is inside the box. These homemade Valentine gifts can also be used as Valentine boxes for the kids to take to school or as a place to store your own Valentines from the past.
A Box of Kisses
Supplies You Will Need:
Plain white paper
Lipstick
A shoebox
Box cutter (optional)
Transparent tape
Tissue paper in red or pink
A bag of chocolate kisses
Narrow red ribbon
Take the white paper, and apply lipstick to your mouth. Then leave kisses all over the paper. Try different colors of lipstick for a multi-colored effect. Kiss as many sheets of the paper as it will take to cover the shoebox and the lid.
Take a shoebox that you don't plan to use, and remove the lid. If you plan to use the box to hold Valentines, use a box cutter to cut out a slot in the top. Then start wrapping the lid in your kiss paper, taping the paper to the edge of the shoebox top. Repeat the process with the shoebox bottom.
When the entire box is wrapped in the kiss paper, line the box with the tissue paper. Empty a bag of chocolate kisses into the box, put the lid on the box and tie it closed with the red ribbon.
Photo Decoupage Box
Supplies You Will Need:
Printouts of digital photos of you and your loved one
Magazine photos or photocopies of romantic images, like hearts or roses
Scissors
Foam brush
Mod Podge
A plain wooden box or cigar box with a lid
Print out several of your digital photos on regular paper. That way, you can save the originals, and you can decoupage the prints onto the box. Cut out what is important from the photos and the magazine images. You want to aim for a collage effect.
Using a foam brush, paint the back of the images with Mod Podge, and attach the images to the box, smoothing out any air bubbles as you go. Go slowly, and take your time so you achieve a flat surface. Once the box has dried, paint another coat of Mod Podge over the images, and let the box dry again.
Does spending a lot of money on your special someone for Valentine's Day prove your love? Well, it can't hurt. |
Be careful, St. Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Pretty soon, there will be pictures of red and pink hearts everywhere, pink and red roses on sale, and lots and lots of chocolate. On Feb. 14, this will just be an image to many people, because unfortunately, Valentine's Day is just another day. |&&|The Society of American Florists reports that approximately 81% of men are unromantic on Valentine's Day ranking themselves as a seven or lower on a romantic scale of one to ten, forcing many women to be unhappy. |
