Homemade Concrete Cleaner

Homemade concrete cleaner can be a great concoction to be able to make if you need concrete cleaner frequently. You may have most of the ingredients necessary to make your own homemade concrete cleaner on hand, making this very convenient. It's also easy on your wallet, since the ingredients involved are generally cheap and can be bought in bulk. Here's what you need to know to create your own homemade concrete cleaner.

Before you begin, gather up everything that you will need to create your own homemade concrete cleaner. This includes a bucket to mix everything in, a long-handled spoon to stir it all with, any tools you will use to apply the cleaner and a container to store it in. Of course you should have all of the ingredients on hand, that way you don't have to stop mid-mixing to run out and get something.

Mix together two cups of vinegar with two quarts of water. If you have a strong, set-in stain, pour the solution directly on the stain. You can let it sit for up to twenty-five minutes to give it time to work. If you are cleaning concrete in general (and not a specific stain), you can either spray the solution evenly over the surface or you may choose to mop it evenly onto the surface. Scrub any stains with a stiff-bristled brush. Then, using a simple mixture of dish soap and water, mop the entire surface and rinse with water. Give the floor a chance to dry before you return to normal use.

If you have any really tough stains, like oil or other auto liquids, use kitty litter to absorb as much of the stain. Pour it onto the stain and allow it to sit for awhile before using your homemade concrete cleaner.

If you plan on storing the concrete cleaner, make sure that you clearly label any bottles or containers that you put it into and list the ingredients in it in case it is accidentally ingested by a child or a pet. Keep it out of the reach of any children or pets.
