Cute and Sparkly Girls Bedroom Ideas

If your little girl loves feminine touches and sparkly accents, you can dress up her room with some simple, inexpensive items that you can find at any discount store. You will need a little time, a few supplies and some fun and colorful trinkets to get started.

Beads
Start by embellishing large pieces in the room to add greater drama. For example, glue strings of sparkly beads onto dresser drawer fronts as a pretty accent. You can also trim a headboard with strings of beads and other costume jewelry or make a one-of-a-kind border. Add beads just below molding or just above baseboards or add larger beads, or several strings, to create a unique chair rail.

Lace
Adding lots of lace will also help create that soft, feminine look. You can pick up prepackaged lace for greater savings instead of buying lace by the yard. Add a bit of lace to top cuff of bed sheets and to the edges of pillowcases. Trim curtains and bedspreads with lace. Stitch it on, use iron-on hem tape or apply washable fabric glue as a quick, easy alternative. You can also add lace to the edges of shelves and around picture frames.

Sparkle
Use spray adhesive and glitter to add some sparkle to plain fabrics. You can also add lights to create a charming effect. Strings of tiny white lights around the perimeter of the room will delight your little girl. Other items can be completely covered in glitter instead of just a sprinkle. Apply a clear top coat to keep glitter from falling off.

Color
White and pastel colors that contain a lot of light work perfectly in a sparkly room. They reflect light, which will enhance the sparkling effect. Mix and match pretty pastels for even greater interest, and use lots of soft, white accents. Consider changing the bulb in at least one lamp to a soft pastel color. Pink is as pretty as it is soothing.

Curves
Curved furnishings and accessories add a feminine touch. When adding shelves, try rounding the corners. Add round or heart-shaped accent pillows and cushions.

Fabrics
Soft materials and sheer and flowing fabrics also add a sense of softness. Your little girl's room will feel like a luxurious palace fit for any princess. Add layers of fabric for window treatments, starting with sheers and topping with soft, flowing fabrics.

Accessories
Accessorize the room with beautiful pieces that also create softness. Curved shapes, soft colors, flowers and additional embellishments of lace and beads will make it ever more special. A plain vase becomes something completely different when dressed up with beads, and a plain storage box or basket becomes instantly more charming with a little bit of added lace.

Kid's rooms often inspire whimsical ideas, so have fun with it. The key to creating the perfect sparkly, feminine space for your little angel is softness and attention to detail.
