SAT Preparation for Test Week

Test week. You'll be taking the SAT test and want to get the best score possible. What is the best SAT preparation strategy?

Complete Study Early
If you have studied hard and worked throughout the months before the test, your best bet may be to take some time off to rest and renew. Cramming is not a good method of preparation for any test. Study and go over vocabulary words and bone up on math facts and processes and you should be ready for testing.

Rest and Renew
Take at least three days before the test for relaxing and resting. Get some exercise; take in a movie. All these things help calm you and refresh your mind for the test. Stressing out about an exam can make you blank out and not be able to do a good job.

Get some rest during the two nights before test day. Plan to get to bed early so that you will be rested. Let your family or roommates know that you will require a good night's sleep. Ask for their cooperation.

Eat Right
Eat right and make certain that you plan a healthful snack to take along on test day. During breaks you may have a chance to get in that snack and drink to refresh yourself and be certain your blood sugar doesn't drop too low.

Remember, too sugary a snack will make your blood sugar rise quickly and then allow it to drop suddenly leaving you in poor test-taking condition.

Prepare Well
Decide what to wear ahead of time. Have those cloths and shoes ready and waiting. Leave early to get to the testing site so that you will have some extra time for traffic and unforeseen problems that might make you late. A leisurely breakfast and trip to the testing room will get you started on your SAT test with a clear mind and fewer worries.

Preparation can help immeasurably toward earning a nice SAT score to send in to the college you hope to attend.
