If your teen is not doing his homework, don't assume that he is just lazy or a bad student. Many teens avoid doing their homework because they are struggling to understand the concepts, and that makes them feel bad about themselves. A math tutor can help them get back on track, making homework less of an emotional challenge.
4. Your teen is not interested in math.
When teens have trouble with math, they often reject it by saying that it is "stupid" or something that they "will never actually need to know." A good math tutor can help your teen build confidence in his own math skills and teach him not to run away from the subject just because it is a challenge.
